A Fresh Perspective Shift between Ideas and Outcomes
“Live in the present moment and find your interest and happiness in the things of today.”
– Emmet Fox

I’ve been thinking about expectations a lot recently. I’ve been playing with not having them.
In recovery literature, expectations are known as ‘premeditated resentments’.
Think about it. How much do expectations affect your emotions and thoughts?
Especially when things aren’t going your way, look back to see if it was an expectation that created your frustration.
But there’s a big difference between making plans and attempting to control outcomes, right? And there’s a very different energy between making assumptions versus setting an intention in motion. Instead of falling into this projection trap, I propose we change our expectations for a sense of freshness.
The gift found in Gene Key 1 is an invitation to see Beauty right under our noses. This Beauty arises from a creative spark that cannot be planned. Pure Yang energy that finds its way into each moment to fuel ideas and recognition.
What is the sense of FRESHNESS?
Free of the bondage of what we think something is supposed to be like, and releasing resistance and judgment. Breathe into that…
So what can you freshen up?
* Is it time to pause, relax, and allow a wider-angle view to show itself?
* Would you like to connect with an old friend or put yourself in a situation to meet some new people?
* How about taking stock of what you have to discover forgotten treasures?
It can get pretty intense thinking about what your life is supposed to look like or deciding what it’s going to look like by a certain date by doing a-b-c.
So instead of a structured plan toward a specific outcome, free up freshness with these 3 PERSPECTIVES:
1. Drop the projection habit
2. Look for what feels good and right
3. Keep a sense of wonder and play in plans and goals
Freshness is about centering yourself in the present. It creates space for serendipity, healing, creativity, and insight, and allows you to follow your intentions with flexibility.
Each moment is new, and the possibilities are immeasurable.
Here’s to Fresh Moments…
