Why I Write…
My Great-grandfather, William T. Ellis, was an author in the early 1900s. Technically, he was a blogger before that was a thing. He had a syndicated column that ran every Sunday where he mused about the spiritual life; ponderings, lessons, and joys.

Activities that truly enrich my life make me aware of my connection to the world. Rather than feeding a blind external consumption or trying to get a fix, I am drawn to those things that build unity and help me realize how connected we really are.
Mending the Overachiever
I have a precious figurine of a wooden angel holding a bundle of apples in her arms. It was given to me by a patient who did everything in her power to be healthy and young-looking. So when her husband called weeping to tell me she’d had a fatal heart attack, I was shocked.
